TYPE STUDIO
Aashika Thole
The pattern observed while studying the home type were different level of plinths which created intermingling of private and public space .
The shift from angan to ghar shows the degree of publicness within the house where Angan padti and osri are public ally active and ghar , store paras become private

The plan provides free flowing movement and has various  modules
This
homestead makes one question the idea of privacy
How could the house we studies reimagined on the basis of open , semi open and closed spaces
Using the modularity of the homestead I tried rearranging the existing modules to develop a new spatial organisation that would consist the gradient of open semi open and closed spaces in order to create intimacy
The first arrangement is for caretakers unit in consideration to existing site condition

Similarly I started diagramming the other units with these modules
The caretakers unit which includes the reception is a open floor plan where the wall are only given where it is necessary  for eg the rooms
To increase the porosity . It helps in creating smoother transition and creates intermingling of public and private through merging spaces
The reception and living block leads to restaurant which adapts the flow of contour and sits in between them
Each of this unit is based on modularity of homestead where I tried minimising the use of walls by adding fenestrations
These units are enveloped  within trees weaved around them
